DIY Gold Painted Bookmark

           There is nothing I love more during winter time than to curl up by the fire and read a good book, but I always have no bookmark! So here is a little tutorial for all of you bookworms out there who need something to hold your page while you go make a little hot cocoa! {pssst... go check out my recipe here}

  • Scraps of Suede Leather
  • Sharp Fabric Scissors
  • A Paint brush
  • Scotch Tape
1. Cut your suede leather into a rectangular strip.
It can be any size or shape you want!
It doesn't have to be perfect, but you can measure it if you'd like.

2. Tape a triangle from one corner to another, like this!
You can customize the size, or position of the tape.

(Also look how good this paint is)

3. Paint in between the corner and the tape!

4. Wait for it to dry and then peel the tape away!
This will pull up the fibers a bit, and make it look like the
paint is lower than the leather. It is a cool effect!

5. Repeat steps 2-4 at the other end!

6. Dry completely, then flip over and repeat steps 2-5
on the other side!

7. Dry this side completely and then slap it in a book!
