DIY- a spoonful of chocolate!

It is my sister's birthday today and it is her sweet 16! Sweet 16...... SWEET! Unfortunately she is trying to eat healthily this year, but a spoonful of chocolate at a time won't hurt her......

  • Plastic spoons
  • 1 cup Chocolate of your choice
  • Wax paper
  • A cookie sheet
  • A microwave
And..... things to flavour!
Here are some ideas!
  • Coconut Flakes
  • Almond or peanut butter
  • Orange zest
  • Coffee or Espresso beans
  • Pomegranate Seeds
1. Line your cookie sheet with the wax paper

2. Put your chocolate into a microwave safe bowl

3. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir well.

4. Microwave for another 30 seconds, then stir again until smooth

We do this because microwaves cook unevenly, and this will
make sure it doesn't burn.

5. There are two ways of coating the spoons!

Dip it!
This one gives more of an even, glossy finish!

Spoon it in!
This one is good if you want the back of the spoon to be clean!

6. Add your toppings! Just push them in or sprinkle them on top!

Coconut!

Coffee!

Almond Butter!

For this one you have to spoon a little chocolate on top,
smooth it out in a layer, spoon some almond butter on,
and then add a top layer of chocolate!
Then, top it off with slivered almonds!

Salted Semisweet!

Pomegranate!

Orange Zest!

7. Put them in the fridge to cool!

8. Decorate them!

You can tie a ribbon around them or decorate the handles of the spoons!
I just put them in a little decorative mug!

9. Enjoy life one spoonful at a time!
Happy Birthday Elena!
