DIY Confetti!

Happy New Year Everyone!Whether you are out at a party, or enjoying a nice night of pizza and battlestar galactica like me, I hope you are having a wonderful time. Here is a very simple tip to brighten up any celebration! {Ps. If you want to learn how to make a party hat for your cat, or you click here}

  • Candy or chocolate wrappers (I used dove truffle wrappers from christmas)
  • A tin or small container (I used an old altoid tin)
  • Scissors!

1. Start by cleaning out your tin
(if ya need to)
It will make it all shiny and nice and get the leftover candy out.
Dry it thoroughly so that the pieces don't stick to it.

2. Get your wrappers and cut them into thin, long strips

3. Hold your strips and line them up in your hand,
then start snipping off the ends into your tin!

5. Throw it in the air, and kiss someone you love!

Also, look how cute this dress is! I got it from modcloth for a great bargain!

Happy New Year!

Monthly Favorites (July 2013)

Here is a collection of my favorite things that I have found in July 2013!

The outsiders
My favorite book that I have read this July is The Outsiders by S.E Hinton. This is a fantastic book and I can relate to greatly. It has drama, action, and a consistent storyline. I have never found myself so into a book as I was while I was reading it, i was literally on the edge of my seat. Literally.

Jesus Henry Christ
Though it may sound like it, this isn't about religion at all. It is a  story about kids who are my age-ish. I love the original plot and the charming story. It is relatable, and entertaining the entire time.

Now that's pretty
This blog is run by one of the nicest people I know. She makes all kinds of great posts about DIY and has gorgeous photography. Please check out her blog at http://nowthatspretty.blogspot.co.uk/

Wangechi Mutu
This month I have really been loving the work of Wangechi Mutu. I love her simple drawing work (which you can't easily find online for some reason) and her collage and big pieces just as much. Her work inspires me and leaves me in awe.

Billie Holiday
No matter what mood I'm in, Her music makes me happy. I always want to swing dance with someone. I love Billie's old style no matter how "outdated" it may be.
