Monthly favorites! (August 2013)

Here is a collection of my favorite things that I have found in August 2013!

SeedFolks

This book is quite short, but it still holds your attention and is quite interesting in writing style. It is one of the few books that I have read for school that I have still thoroughly enjoyed.
4 of 5 stars

Girl in Progress
This is a stunningly realistic and emotional coming-of-age film that would be relatable to any teen. It is quite sad in some parts, but is a movie you can get something out of.
5 of 5 stars

Oh happy day!
This blog is positive and cute and has many simple DIY projects that anyone could be inspired by.

Mr.Sith
I have been lovin' Mr.Sith's work for a while now. He seems like quite a nice guy and responds to almost all comments he gets. The intricacies of his work leave me in awe, and how he combines them with little things that are so simple. Check out his work at: http://www.mrsithzam.daportfolio.com/

Anything from late 50's to early 60's
The upbeat, happy style of this music makes me want to jump up and dance. I have recently been dancing when I am home alone and even if I am awful at it and I look silly, It sure makes me happy! :)

Monthly Favorites (July 2013)

Here is a collection of my favorite things that I have found in July 2013!

The outsiders
My favorite book that I have read this July is The Outsiders by S.E Hinton. This is a fantastic book and I can relate to greatly. It has drama, action, and a consistent storyline. I have never found myself so into a book as I was while I was reading it, i was literally on the edge of my seat. Literally.

Jesus Henry Christ
Though it may sound like it, this isn't about religion at all. It is a  story about kids who are my age-ish. I love the original plot and the charming story. It is relatable, and entertaining the entire time.

Now that's pretty
This blog is run by one of the nicest people I know. She makes all kinds of great posts about DIY and has gorgeous photography. Please check out her blog at http://nowthatspretty.blogspot.co.uk/

Wangechi Mutu
This month I have really been loving the work of Wangechi Mutu. I love her simple drawing work (which you can't easily find online for some reason) and her collage and big pieces just as much. Her work inspires me and leaves me in awe.

Billie Holiday
No matter what mood I'm in, Her music makes me happy. I always want to swing dance with someone. I love Billie's old style no matter how "outdated" it may be.

Month Overview (July 2013)

The month of July has been a pretty chillaxed month for me, so luckily i have had plenty of time to post. Here is an overview of the posts I have made this month:

My first post in July was my cat party hat. It was a post where me and Lilli (from thegardeniaelephant) made a party hat for her cat rosie's birthday.  This was simple and anyone could do it, even though rosie was not so pleased to model it c:

I also made a short update introducing my beach saga.

I did a short tutorial on how to make a beach wishing bracelet thing. I was already back from the beach at this point, and I was pretty inspired by the whole thing.

Next I made a post about a short trip I took to downtown Beaufort with family and friends. It highlighted the a restaurant, the pier, and an oold graveyard. This was an old post from the beach.

The next post I made was one I've been wanting to make for a while where I show you how to make custom stamps. This is definitely one of my favorite DIY posts I have made, and I really liked the turnout.

The next post I made was one about the aquarium. It was another post from the beach. It highlighted different animals we saw, and had some pretty crappy pictures :)

I made a post about a mug i drew on and planted chia in. It was a short and easy but cute tutorial. The chia sprouted so fast it was funny! It grew like wildfire and will look like hair soon enough.  Some pretty crappy pictures in this one as well.

The next post I made was an introduction to the star scale, a simple editing project I did. I do love the graphics on this.

Goat shopping! This simply showed how we picked out our 4 goats and a bit about each of them!
