DIY Fall Colors Bracelet!

So I saw this adorable photo on pinterest and was inspired to make a version of my own!

Cute right? Click here to go to the pin!

  • Some tube beads
  • Seed Beads
  • Crimp beads
  • Jump Rings
  • Fishing Wire
  • Clasps
  • Scissors
  • And Some Pliers

1. Measure loosely around your wrist and cut!

2. Thread a Crimp bead on and then stick the other end
through the bead to make a loop

3. Crimp!

4. Start threading on the sead beads!
You will want to cover a little less than one third
of your wrist! For me that was about 27 beads

5. Add a tube bead! And keep beading!
Use the same amount of beads on both sides!

6. Add another crimp bead and repeat steps 2 & 3

7. Open a jump ring and add through the hoop on one side.
Add one side of the clasp and close!

8. Wear it!
These are good for stacking on top of each other or just wearing casually!

Enjoy your cute fall bracelet!
Happy 30th Post!

Month Overview (July 2013)

The month of July has been a pretty chillaxed month for me, so luckily i have had plenty of time to post. Here is an overview of the posts I have made this month:

My first post in July was my cat party hat. It was a post where me and Lilli (from thegardeniaelephant) made a party hat for her cat rosie's birthday.  This was simple and anyone could do it, even though rosie was not so pleased to model it c:

I also made a short update introducing my beach saga.

I did a short tutorial on how to make a beach wishing bracelet thing. I was already back from the beach at this point, and I was pretty inspired by the whole thing.

Next I made a post about a short trip I took to downtown Beaufort with family and friends. It highlighted the a restaurant, the pier, and an oold graveyard. This was an old post from the beach.

The next post I made was one I've been wanting to make for a while where I show you how to make custom stamps. This is definitely one of my favorite DIY posts I have made, and I really liked the turnout.

The next post I made was one about the aquarium. It was another post from the beach. It highlighted different animals we saw, and had some pretty crappy pictures :)

I made a post about a mug i drew on and planted chia in. It was a short and easy but cute tutorial. The chia sprouted so fast it was funny! It grew like wildfire and will look like hair soon enough.  Some pretty crappy pictures in this one as well.

The next post I made was an introduction to the star scale, a simple editing project I did. I do love the graphics on this.

Goat shopping! This simply showed how we picked out our 4 goats and a bit about each of them!

DIY beach wishing bracelet!

I collected some shells at the beach and I thought this would be a cool way to use them! This is a fun idea for kids or just to wear as an accessory!

  • A clipboard
  • Scissors
  • Twine/string/yarn/whatever
  • Shells with holes in them                                                                                                                    (you can find them pretty easily on the beach w/ holes but you could also drill holes)
  • A ruler (unless you have one on your clipboard like I do

1. Measure two pieces of string that are 12 inches long

2. Measure one piece of string about 18 inches long

3. Position the string so that the two smaller pieces are in  the middle of the big ones,
leaving about 3 inches on either side.

4. Tie a knot at the beginning of the shorter strings

5. Clip onto clipboard and start Braiding!

6. Braid until it measures about 4 1/2 inches give or take

7. Tie a knot at the 4 1/2 inch mark.

8. thread on the shell and tie a knot around the hole. (optional)

9. Tie another knot at the other side of the shell.
10. Braid until the end of the short strings

11. Tie a knot at the end

12. Trim the short strings down to stubs (NOT the long ends)

13. Add a clasp if you want to be able to take it on and off,
OR
Tie around your ankle or wrist using the long ends and trim to your liking.

14. Flaunt it!

Wishing Bracelet:
Think of a wish as you tie it around wrist or ankle. Don't tell the wish to anyone! When your bracelet breaks, your wish will come true!

Sorry some of these pictures aren't of the best quality, I try!
